Executive Coaching and Leadership Coaching based in Seattle Washington, serving clients nationwide.

What is Executive & Leadership Coaching?
Executive & Leadership Coaching supports mid- to upper-level leaders who are focused on mastering leadership skills necessary for leading and influencing others. Clients choose coaching for their own personal success and for the benefit of their organizations. All practices and learning assignments focus on the workplace, and outcomes are linked to goals valued by the organization. Many clients are in situations where they've recently promoted, are engaged with large scale change, experience new political dynamics, feel burned out or have reached a personal plateau. Clients either initiate coaching or are supported by their organization in getting such support after determining traditional training or other development methods aren't appropriate or customized enough to meet the leader's needs.

How is Executive & Leadership Coaching different from Life Coaching?
Life Coaching focuses on clients' personal issues and relationship outside the workplace. Such engagements do not involve employers and are usually paid by the individual directly. Because Coaches at Transition Dynamics (TD) have a holistic view of human development, even though their coaching is targeted toward the workplace, the skills and competencies developed carry over to home and into the personal experience of the client.

What makes Coaches from Transition Dynamics unique?
TD Coaches all use a methodology in their practice that ensures there is form and structure to each coaching session. They hold a standard and philosophy about human beings that respects their client's humanness as well as their expertise. Coaching sessions are not just conversational; they're designed to shift the client's perspective while helping them realize new choices and act in new ways. All TD coaches are certified, have at least seven years of internal or external coaching experience, and each are committed to ongoing learning and education to maintain their mastery and coaching credentials for the benefit of their clients.

What kind of results can I expect and how are they measured?
A successful coaching experience is when you walk away with what you intended to accomplish and more. This is done through a thorough planning process in the beginning of the engagement that defines the purpose, objectives and specific behavior changes the client desires. This becomes the tool from which all progress is measured. Specific measurements of success are customized to support the tangible impact and new behaviors that show up as the client accomplishes what he/she set out to do. Measurements are quantifiable and must be observable by the client and others.

How long will it take and how much time should I expect to spend?
Time investment depends on what you want to achieve and how much time and effort you're willing to give. A recommendation of time and effort will be provided after an initial discussion with your coach. TD coaches recommend a minimum of six months with coaching sessions bi-monthly. There are practices and assignments the client engages between sessions to ensure new skills and awareness are being built. TD coaches try to integrate these activities into the client's routines so they don't become another task to complete.

How much does it cost?
Costs vary based on length of program, frequency of coaching sessions, use of assessments and the reporting requirements of the client and organization. Customary hourly charges range from $250 to $350. A coaching program may also be charged at a program rate based on other services that may be incorporated including training, material costs or other expenses unique to the client's coaching action plan.

How is coaching different from counseling?
Coaching deals more specifically with changing behaviors that you discover don't get you what you want. It focuses on the present and future actions of the client. Past experiences are used only if they directly actualize the new behavior desired. Counseling deals with the psychology and body of science that shapes your psychological well-being. It focuses on past experiences and the impact they had or continue to have in your life. Often there is a diagnostic element of therapy that is not present in coaches. It is not unusual for a coaching client to seek therapeutic help on something that keeps them from progressing in their coaching program. TD coaches are trained and experienced with helping their clients explore the usefulness of counseling should it become important to do so.

What if I don't like it or it isn't working?
You can put an end to your client/coach agreement anytime you want with a commitment to have a conversation with your coach about what is not working.
